Enjoy this magical time of year as Europe’s countries hold steadfastly onto Old World holiday tradition and transform into fairy-tale Christmas settings. The sights and sensations of the holiday season are everywhere with the tastes of chocolate covered Lebkuchen (gingerbread), sizzling grilled sausages and spiced hot “Gluhwein” (mulled wine). Shop for ornaments, crafts, candles, nutcrackers, winter hats, roasted nuts and other traditional items. “Stollen” is a traditional German Christmas bread including sweet dough, nuts and spices topped with powdered sugar.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Depart USA
Depart on your overnight flight to Prague
Day 2 – Arrive Prague – Transfer to Hotel
Meet your Tour Director at the airport. Spend 2 nights in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic and a city rich in history, stunning architecture and vibrant culture, often referred to as the “city of a hundred spires.” After hotel check in, the rest of the day is on your own.
Overnight – Hilton Old Town, Prague
Day 3 – Prague City Tour & Christmas Markets
This morning, enjoy a Prague City Tour and visit the Prague Castle, a castle complex dating from the 9th century. The castle has been a seat of power for Kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman Emperors, and Presidents of Czechoslovakia. Also see St. Vitus Cathedral, the Royal Palace, St. George Basilica and the Golden Lane. Continue across the Vltava River via the famous and historic Charles Bridge, which dates back to 1357. Visit the Old Town Square to see the medieval Astronomical Clock installed in 1410. This afternoon, visit one of Prague’s Christmas markets. The rest of the day is at your leisure. (B)
Day 4 – Brno – Budapest
This morning, motorcoach south to Brno and visit the Brno Christmas Market. Located at the confluence of the Svitava and Svratka Rivers, Brno is the second-largest city in the Czech Republic after Prague, and one of the 100 largest cities in the European Union. The Brno Christmas Market is a vibrant celebration of Czech traditions, offering a unique blend of cultural experiences and festive shopping.
Continue to Budapest to board the MS Riviera Radiance for 5 Night Cruise. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner onboard. (B,D)
Day 5 – Budapest
Budapest is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. The city straddles both banks of the Danube linked by seven bridges including the famous Chain and Elizabeth Bridges. An included sightseeing tour presents you with a fantastic opportunity to become acquainted with Hungary’s beautiful capi-tal. Enjoy a photo stop at Gellert Hill, see historic Buda Castle, 500-year-old Matthias Church, St. Stephen’s Basilica, the distinctive Fisherman’s Bastion and the marvelous Royal Palace. This morning, enjoy an included city tour of Budapest. This afternoon, the ship will cruise through the Danube Bend. (B,L,D)
Day 6 – Bratislava
Enjoy a Bratislava City Tour and walk through the city, see the home of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, the old city walls, the summer residence of the archbishop and the current residence of the president of Slovakia. Traverse through the restored old town, from Michael’s Gate, and admire other impressive sights such as the Primatial Palace and St. Martin’s Cathedral, former coronation cathedral for Hungarian Kings. Bratislava is a little jewel along the Danube with a wonderful Christmas Market. (B,L,D)
Day 7 – Vienna
Enjoy an included Vienna City Tour. For over 600 years, the magnificent baroque capital city of Vienna was the seat of the mighty Hapsburg Emperors, a heritage that has bestowed it with many dazzling palaces and monuments: the lavish Hofburg Palace, the impressive Vienna Opera House and the majestic Ringstrasse. The capital is also known as the “City of Music” for having once been the home of composers such as Beethoven, Schubert, Mozart and Johann Strauss. Maybe visit the Schoenbrunn Palace on your own.
This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner onboard the ship with a full string quartet recital.(B,L,D)
Day 8 – Budapest
This morning, enjoy scenic cruise down the Danube, and join in on the Christmas Bread Making Demo oboard the ship. This afternoon, arrive into Budapest and visit the Budapest Christmas Markets. Meet back on the ship this evening for a farewell drink before dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 9 – Depart for Home
Transfer to the Budapest Airport for your flight home. (B)
